Crime can be defined as an action or omission that constitutes an offense that may be prosecuted by the state and is punishable by law, most people associate the word crime as a means of a physical attack, but crime has many aspects to it, one of such aspect is cyber crime, cyber crime is a crime conducted via the internet or some other form of computer networking, they are many types of cyber crimes as well that people should be familiar with so that they can take the necessary action to combat these attack.

The first type of cyber crime is money laundering, money laundering is a very common crime it is usually committed by employees within an organization, it is the concealment of the origins of illegally obtained money, typically by means of transfers involving foreign banks or legitimate business, people usually get away with money laundering but if thorough investigation is carried out based on suspicions then people committing these crimes can be caught and brought to justice, another common form of cyber crime is that of scamming, scamming is where people trick other people into giving them a huge sum of money, the persons who falls to these tricks are usually the most vulnerable ones like old people, they are usually promised a greater amount of money if they transfer a small amount, people who have been contacted by scammers should report the issue to their nearest police station so that the criminals can be caught and brought to justice, people who have been caught for scamming usually pays a large sum of money or spend time in prison.

Tax invasion is a cyber crime as well people sometimes manipulates the system in an effort to evade tax, what they do is to decrease the value of a property in an effort to reduce the amount of tax to be paid. Whenever someone has been caught for tax evasion they too face the consequences there are many criminal law cases. Hacking is a very common form of cyber crime, people often hack into other people personal belonging in an effort to access private information that can give them access to numerous form of money, they hack to steal credit card information as well as bank account information, these things are fraudulent activities and is punishable by law. Piracy is the act of copying copyrighted information the internet offers a way for people to commit theses acts. What is common among us is identity theft people use the internet to access information about another individual in an effort to steal their identity and assume their lives, the most clear definition of identity theft is the fraudulent acquisition and use of a person’s private identifying information usually for financial gains. Because there are so many cyber crimes out there and technology is being advance so rapidly the government of a country needs to find new ways to tackle these issues faster.
